丘を越えてかねごんがやってきました。 てくてくてくてく。 かねごんなんだかとっても上機嫌。 Kanegon,a friend of Cuckoo,is coming. Walk,walk,walk. She looks so happy. カッコウの家に着きました。 あれあれ？ ドアは開いているのに、 家の中は空っぽ。 「クークーさ〜ん、どこ〜？」 Now she is at the door of Cuckoo's house. Oops! It is opened,but no one is there. "Cuckoo! Cuckoo? Where are you?"

辺りを見回すと、梯子がぶら下がっているのに 気がつきました。 「なんだろう？」 梯子の先に目をやると・・・・・。 Kanegon looked around and noticed that a ladder is hanging from the big tree. "What's for?" She looked up........... 「いた〜！」 お友達のカッコウが、木の上からにこにこしながらかねごんを見ていました。 「今行くね！　登るからね！」 "You are there!" Cuckoo was looking at her with smile. "I'm coming! I'm climbing!"

「かねごん、大丈夫？」 「もちろんさ。これくらい・・・・朝飯・・前・・・」 かねごん息を切らしてはぁはぁ言っています。 カッコウは思いました。 「きっと朝ごはんを山ほど食べてきたにちがいないわ」 "Kanegon,are you all right?" "Yeah, of course. .... It's a ...... piece of cake...." She is hufing and puffing on the rung. Cuckoo thought, "She must had many pieces of cake." どうにか枝の上まで登りました。ふぅ！ かねごんは手紙を取り出すと、カッコウに見せました。 そよそよと風が吹いています。 森の空気は新鮮で爽やかです。 Kanegon arived the branch at last.Whew! She took out a letter and showed it to Cuckoo. It is breezing. The woods is filled with fresh air.
